Inside our room the fans are whirring quietly above us. The ground is hot today, only a breath of wind. Outside, palm trees fan upwards with brittle leaves. The kookaburra gabbles away. The sun is high, almost directly overhead. In the time it took to hang out the washing, my arms have turned pink.........half an hour later and the washing has dried as hard as cardboard. Note to self: even factor 30 sunscreen isn't enough for English skin in the tropics! Baby Joshua is fascinated by the white stuff I keep smothering on his legs and thinks this is a great new game. No sooner is it on, he is trying to lick it off!
